Sunwealth is a clean energy investment firm working to create a more resilient, secure, and equitable energy future by financing and managing a diverse array of community-based solar projects across the US. As a developer, aggregator, and owner of small-scale commercial solar installations, Sunwealth’s mission is to facilitate collaboration between communities, developers, and investors. The organization aims to support successful, high-yield commercial solar projects that provide affordable clean energy directly to power recipients and assert exceptional return potential to investors. To accomplish this, Sunwealth partners with skilled local installers, community organizations, local businesses, and investors to change who benefits from clean energy by changing the way we invest in it. As a public benefit corporation and B Corp, Sunwealth projects aim to deliver meaningful benefits to communities through energy savings, carbon reductions, and economic opportunities so that everyone can benefit from the clean energy transition.

Calvert Impact has developed a strong long-standing relationship with Sunwealth since 2020 and is currently invested in their Sunwealth Holdco 5 LLC.

Czajkowski Farm

At the University of Massachusetts Amherst dining hall, ranked the best university dining hall in the country, students are filling their plates with locally grown broccoli from Czajkowski Farm in Hadley, MA. This broccoli is unique — it was grown through agrivoltaics where a parcel of land is used for both generating solar photovoltaic power and growing crops.

Jake Marley manages Hyperion Systems, a Massachusetts solar developer focused on developing agrivoltaic projects. Jake and Joe Czajkowski, owner of Czajkowski Farm, worked together to find a way to maintain farmland while also reducing Joe Czajkowski’s electric bill and building sustainability. Agrivoltaics proved an effective solution and Sunwealth partnered with Hyperion to deliver it.

This is Sunwealth’s first agrivoltaic low-income community solar project, which provides discounted clean energy to 22 low-income community members, $1.2 million in lifetime energy savings, and enables the reduction of 11,887 tons of carbon emissions. This dual land use project also supports Sunwealth’s mission — to power unity with solar — proving that solar and farmland can coexist and even support each other’s success. Joe Czajkowski’s farm is a prime example of this model, which has allowed him to save money on his electricity bill to reinvest into the farm, while acting as a pioneering example to other farmers in the Pioneer Valley.

Congregation Beth HaTephila

Congregation Beth HaTephila has been part of Asheville, North Carolina since 1891, growing into a mid-sized Reform congregation known for its inclusive approach to Jewish life. The congregation’s current synagogue, built in 1949, now hosts a 72 kW rooftop solar system, developed in partnership with Eagle Solar and Light.

The congregation runs a robust volunteer program built around Tikkun Olam, meaning “repairing the world,” along with youth education and adult Torah study. The solar system is projected to deliver approximately $58,000 in lifetime energy savings, freeing up resources to support those programs.

BETA General Aviation Hangar

In South Burlington, Vermont, BETA Technologies is building electric aircraft, vertical takeoff and landing planes designed for uses ranging from medical transport to cargo delivery. Incorporated in 2018, the company is a large employer in the South Burlington area as it moves from research and development into full-scale manufacturing.

Sunwealth partnered with SunCommon to install a 223 kW rooftop solar system at BETA’s South Burlington facility, delivering approximately $61,000 in lifetime energy savings to help support the company’s operations as it continues to grow.

1440 South Sepulveda Blvd

This project sits on a newly renovated office complex in the Westwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. This is Sunwealth's first project with minority-owned solar contractor, ReVamp Energy, who have installed over 400 residential and commercial solar projects since their founding in 2015.
